Both of these two cars are front wheel drive and have four cylinder engines. They both feature dual overhead camshafts, and have sixteen valves, and both offer automatic and manual transmissions. However, performance-wise there's little contest; for those considering horsepower and performance as a priority, the addition horsepower of the 2015 Volkswagen Golf must be considered first and foremost. The extra 40 hp add up to a lot better performance from the compact hatchback. It's instantly obvious when you test drive these vehicles. If you're in the Tallahassee, Valdosta, Thomasville, Quincy or Bainbridge areas we invite you to Capital Volkswagen to feel the difference for yourself.

Interior

Designed to seat a total of five people, the interior space of both of these cars is very similar in most respects. Comfort and luxury features too, in terms of media playback capability and in- car entertainment in general, are comparable in both hatchbacks. The interior of these hatchbacks is well thought through and laid out, making use of the space in a very efficient way.

One should note that the Volkswagen Golf has more cargo space when the seats are in their normal position. This translates into more space for shopping or for luggage when you travel, without having to fold down the seats. This tips the scale in favor of the Volkswagen Golf.

Maintenance

Both of these cars have good warranties, and the manufacturers have a great reputation for building well-made cars that hold up for a long time. The basic warranty for both hatchbacks is for three years or thirty-six thousand miles. The drive-train warranty on them both is also five years or sixty thousand miles. The Volkswagen Golf however does have the advantage of having normal maintenance for the first year or ten thousand miles included for no cost*, once again showing how Volkswagen go the extra mile to offer just that bit more.
