2016 Volkswagen Golf Review – Tallahassee, FL
2016 Volkswagen Golf
Serving Tallahassee, Valdosta, and Thomasville
Introduced in 1974, Golf has evolved to become one of the top selling models. In fact, as of 2012, it sold over 29 million units and is second for most vehicles sold worldwide. The name was originally Rabbit in America with front-wheel drive. The engine was placed in front, which was a change from the rear position. There have always been several models offered each year. This includes the current seventh generation with Golf, Golf GTI, Golf R, and electric model eGolf.
This has been an award winner for decades in both American and European markets. Car and Driver has named it to the 10 Best list many times. It has won European Car of the Year in 1992 and 2013 and captured second place in other years. In 2009 the Golf MK6 was named World Car of the Year and again in 2013 with the Golf MK7. While exterior and interior designs have changed, they were minor with tweaks to enhance performance.

There are plenty of features in all Golf models with the cutting edge technology of Volkswagen Car-Net. The navigation and entertainment dashboard has Android Auto and Mirror Link apps that sync to both iPhones and Androids. This includes ability to see contact info on the display. There are 3D maps and hands-free text messaging with a Digital Assistant by Google Voice. Audio has touchscreen for music, podcasts, and more. Drivers and passengers are protected with myriad standard safety features. Items include traction control, brake assist with ABS brakes, immobilizer, panic alarm, electronic stabilizing, and low tire pressure warning.
