Performance
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line 4Motion has all-wheel drive and a is powered by a 200 horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged intercooled TSI engine. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic with Volkswagen’s Tiptronic, Sport Motion Mode and Dynamic Shift programs. The EPA-rating on the VW Tiguan R-Line 4Motion is 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway*. The FWD model was capable of 0 to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds and achieves a top speed of 119 miles-per-hour.
The 4Motion all-wheel drive system transfer torque between the front and rear wheels. Under non-challenging conditions, the system powers the Tiguan with the front-wheels only. As the weather or the surface change, the torque can be shared with the rear wheels for better footing. The Sport Suspension comes with independent front suspension McPherson struts, rear fully-independent suspension and stabilizer bars. The Tiguan R-Line 4Motion rides on 19-inch split-spoke wheels with all-season tires sized 255/40 R19 96H.
Interior
The interior of the Tiguan R-Line 4Motion is luxurious and well equipped. High quality and durable V-Tex Leatherette seating is standard at this trim level. The 12-way adjustable driver’s seat makes long drives more comfortable. Safety
Low-speed cornering fog lights are standard on the Tiguan R-Line 4Motion. As you turn a corner, the lights shift in the direction of the turn, illuminating in advance what otherwise may not have been seen until too late. Headlights are halogen with fully chip-resistant polycarbonate lenses. The Tiguan comes with anti-lock disc brakes and stability control. Also included are VW’s automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle notification and “geo-fencing” which allows parents to set the boundaries for their teenage drivers.
