Performance
All Volkswagen Touareg come equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine capable of 280 horsepower. The EPA–rated fuel economy is pegged at 17 mpg city/ 23 mpg highway. Each is built with an 8-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic, Dynamic Shift Program (DSP), and sport mode. This rugged luxury sport utility boasts a towing capacity up to 7,716 pounds. The Touareg rides in 18-inch wheels, through 21-inch Mallory wheels are standard on the V-6 Executive. All trim levels have 4Motion all-wheel drive.
Interior
The 5-passenger Sport comes standard with high quality leatherette seating while the Lux and Executive have premium Vienna leather seating surfaces. Ride in comfort with dual-zone automatic climate control and 8 way-power adjustable ventilated front seats. A Panoramic sun-roof is standard at the Lux and Executive trim levels. A hands-free, easy-open liftgate is also a standard feature in the 2016 Touaregs. The rear bench seat which accommodates three passengers comfortably can be folded flat to provide an additional 64 cubic feet of cargo space. This rear seat can slide forward and back by 6-inches to allow for more legroom or cargo space, as needed, and comes with an electric rear seat release for easier access to the cargo area.
